Nomas Foundation, the Unit of Research Aesthetics in the Social (DiSSE)
at Sapienza University of Rome, together with Beverly Barkat have envisioned the Biosphere project as a think-tank for like-minded parties
from across various fields. In a divided world with growing complexity
of problems, Biosphere aims for an ‘art of partnership’, of working together as an international community and hoping to provide bridges where needed. Barkat’s aesthetic posthuman appeal has already been welcomed by NGO Ocean Conservancy (USA) and a non-profit organization Tools for Culture (Italy). Biosphere will also be interactive, lending itself to educational projects, in collaboration with schools so as to raise a dialogue amongst children and students. The Nomas Foundation in co-partnership with Sapienza University is planning an interdisciplinary Symposium which
will bring together thought leaders, specialists, scholars, scientists and industry leaders in search of a more interactive answer for environmentally sustainable life.

Nomas Foundation, a non-profit art foundation, has a long-standing record of supporting art projects addressing vital, consciousness-raising issues. Nomas Foundation acts as a scientific partner and a curator to Beverly Barkat’s project Biosphere.
